Default Where does this go???

So I was working under the drivers side dash and I hear this spring pop.

I have no idea where it came from as I did not see it and by the picture you can see it is clearly broken and Only have 2 of the 3 pieces.

I just hope that it is not critical.

I can't really tell how big it is from the pic but how about out of the latch in the glovebox, if not it almost looks like a door spring.

Perhaps the gas pedal or brake return spring?

looks like some kind of return spring. Start the car check your brakes and brake pedal, if that all works drive around and see if the gas pedal works, if it dont atleast you know the brakes work so you can stop. or maybe just check all that before you go driving, your choice.

It looks to me to be the CLUTCH return spring. It like $36 I think to get a new one.

Well I drove the car and it seems fine. It is not the door spring that comresses like a valvespring, like these guys are saying it looks like it should go to the gas pedal as it had a limited range. Right now the only thing pulling the gas pedal back is the throttle body spring.
