Default Cheapest Trans Rebuild???

Whats the Cheapest you guys have paid or herd of someone paying for a 4L60e stock rebuild. I was gonna do a strait replacement, but some of the members on S10 forum got rebuilds pretty cheap so I said why not.

So please fellas let me know what you know. Need to get my truck running so I can stop putting miles on my Impala

Thanks,
Nick

If its not broken (just worn/slipping) and stock, you can do it yourself. I've rebuilt many 700R4s before for myself and friends. Other than the electronics, I don't see much difference with a 4L60E.

Take it to a good shop and just get a good job done if you can afford it. Just my 2 cents you'll save time money and headach. Plus you could probably find a good reputable shop that will do it for a good price with this economy.

FREE!, If you do it yourself.. Thats what I did, Gota save money in these hard times. But expect to pay around $1000 if you wish not to do it yourself.

So what makes the 60e's differant? The valve body or some solenoids or what? Those are eazy to change. Or u can just maybe put a 700r4. And get the tailshaft from the 60e so the speedo will work.
