A big thanks to SRJ, on another successful motor swap.
The quick story: (pics bellow)
SRJ is the man and swapped out my busted motor for a newer one.. all in 36 hours, start to finish, with a good nights sleep in there as well as a few long car trips here and there for parts.
The longer story:
My motor was making a small ticking sound, my and trent (krazy4) pulled off the heads and replaced the lifters, put it back together and it made the same sound. We took it out for a drive and thats when the major knocking started. I believe it is a spun bearing. I'm not sure, either way it meant a new engine was in order.
Raul (Wickedbluess) came through with an offer of his brother's engine out of a 2000 ss. It had 50k miles on it, and came with the heads, but no acc nor and intake or oil pan. Jason was able to swap these over from mine though.
We got the engine over the night before jason started working.
Saturday Jason arrived at 630 to start working. By the time I got back from work at 4, he had just about everything on the newer engine and was working on the oil pan transfer. By the end of the night, at about 11, he had everything bolted onto the K member and ready to slide back under the car.
Today he came by at about 830 and resumed working. By the time I was back at 5, he already had fired up the engine and was working on refilling the oil after he ran some through to clean any crap left in the engine. by 6 we were out doing a roll race, and as expected he pulled on me. lol
The car runs great and Jason did an excellent job with the swap. He definitely exceeded all of my expectations and to anyone that needs a motor job done quick and around your schedule, he's definitely a great option.
A big thanks to Jason (ss.slp.ls1 aka SRJ), Raul (wickedbluess) and his brother and friends that were over to help load the engine, Trent (Krazy4) and everyone else that in someway loaned a needed part or answered some needed questions.
Picture time!

Yeah, pretty much 99% of the work was done flying solo.
Why thank you, they are quite nosy though and did not like my car sitting there while this was done. I can't begin to count how many neighbors walked by absolutely stunned seeing this happen in a driveway.
Yeah, apparently third time is the charm lol. But its the color I wanted now and its a pretty decent job for being maaco.
