98 TA 6speed car with 125k on it. It does have a knock and I'm 99.9 percent sure its a salvage title, I was thinking about buying it for my lsx/t56 swap for $750, is it worth it?

Hell ya it is. If it's even half-way clean get it quick. Hell, you could part it out for Atleast twice that.

well I still have to take a look at it, and I need like $400 more to buy it unless I sell some stuff soon. I'll probably have it in about a month tho if everything goes well. I'll let you know tho.

If i were the seller I wouldn't hold it without a down payment. you have no idea how many people give their word on buying a part and flake out without even bothering to call.

But yeah jump on it thats a steal.

Get it and pick up a 6.0 with lower miles and do the swap. If the seats are leather and black I may be interested in them if in great shape.

Thats a good idea, but I'm gonna keep the ls1 and just do a stock rebuild. I want to lower the weight as much as possible. My goal is 3000lbs, I'm gonna leave the ls1 stock(when I get this 98 I'll do ls6 intake, 02 manifolds and a few other very little things) I want to make the car a handling car more than anything.

I'm gonna do it all myself too, but if I do need help I'll give you call tho.

You're talking about an additional weight of only 88lbs. You can easily make up for that, but you can't easily add all that low end torque to a LS1 that the 6.0 is going to give you...

Yeah but 88 pounds on the front end, and its close to 100lbs I can save for not too much more money. Plus I'd want a new motor that way I can take care of it from the very beginning(after I rebuild this one)

I've driven a countless number of Fbody's with iron blocks swapped in, trust me, you won't notice any difference in handling or weight shifting.

I'll look into it cuz its will be cheaper to do a 6.0, for now I'm gonna buy the car pull out what I need and sell the rest.

Don't forget that you are driving a car with an iron block in it right now. Not to mention it probably has iron heads (not sure) and an alum intake manifold. In the end you'd probably be lighter.
