I was going to put a 6 point cage in the car but I ended up paying for my school book instead because the GI bill takes a while. It was like my 4th day of school at masa college. I missed my exit and was going to take the next exit but someone cut me off. The trans am didn't really roll it was flipped. The deivers side rear axle hit the curb while I was spining and it flipped it up on the side of the hill. It kept sliding until it slid into a semi that was parked on the exit. Good thing I hit it or I would of slid back out into the 805 again!

Thanks, I try and tell everyone to get a cage in an fbody. I got in an accident in my 2001 WS6 when I let my EX- girlfriend drive my car. She pulled out infront of a 1500 silverado. If he wouldnt of swerved and hit the nose It would of T-boned us on my side I was sitting. I felt a lot safer with the side bar from the cage there if I would of been T-boned. The way a vette or F-body is made for side impacts or roll overs is not good. Like I said before, You could be doing everything right and be the one that gets hit or something. Things get worse when you start being stupid.

I have a wolfe 6pt chromoly welded cage in my WS6 with 5pt harnesses on a cam lock. I have been pulled over 100's of times for doing nothing and them thinking I'm a racer. Once I tell them about the accident and show them my scars they think otherwise. My Gieco insurance tried dropping me because I they saw I had a cage in my car with 5pt belts. They thought that it was a race car. I had to explain to them the same thing as the cops. They saw the pics of the accident and understood.

Damn CJ, those pics are crazy...like someone said before, obviously someone upstairs wanted to keep you around for a reason, and I'm glad that you had Him watching over you when that went down.

*Cages are actually pretty dangerous for the street. If you get into a wreck without a helmet(which you'd be wearing at the track) your head can hit the bars and kill you or leave you a vegetable.

Also from what I understand they really don't protect you from a T-Bone as the door bar will just cave in because it's not made or reinforced to protect from the side. There made to stiffen the chassis and protect from a rollover or head on with the wall.

I carry a teddy bear in my car to squeeze hold of when I crash. The teddies name is bandicoot.

I just wanted to add a little light humor.

The first part it true if you dont use roll bar padding.... You can pick that stuff up at any 4x4 store or baja/dune buggy shop.

A t-bone would suck worse without the door bar. The stock f-body has only a 3/4'' tube that like 1/16'' thick that mounts to fiber glass in the door jams to stop the t-bone. The door bar is a lot thicker and wider. Its also welded from your hoop to the floor on a large plated piece of steel.

I vote cage 100% It does suck getting in and out of though for a DD!

Even with good padding. Get hit at 60 and whip your head into it, its not going to feel good and I'd bet without a helmet it'd still do alot of damage. A roll bar behind the front seats would be a good idea but still bad if you ever had any passengers.
