Default Tuner can't tune my car

The exhaust smells kinda like gas and makes my eyes sting,no smoke other than a little condensation before it warms up.The tips are not all sooted up so I don't think its running rich.I done a engine swap a few months ago and took it to get tuned.I am about 40 to 50 hp low and the tuner said that I had a bad cam or a bad cam install but I opened it up and it looked ok, dot over dot.My mods are full exhaust, ported throttlebody, lid, some kinda aftermarket cam I got for free don't know the specs but I know it made some good power on a blower 346 setup.Hope some one can help

Try a different tuner who is maybe a little more competent? That is of course assuming you DID do everything correctly on your end.

What hp did you make? Saying you are down 40-50 hp, and not saying what you made is kinda silly. Especially without knowing the cam specs, is it a blower cam, or was it just on a car with one...?

I would be floored if a tune picked up 50 rwhp. Highly unlikely.

Blower cams are usually on the small side and on a wider LSA than N/A cams. Blower cams help the blower make power, they aren't huge power adders by themselves. Your tune might be right on.

The eyes stinging means that it's running lean. Pretty much you have a blower cam in a n/a car......Does that make sense?

My tuner found 58 rwhp in my tune, to be exact.

He said it smells of gas. The stinging of the eyes and the smell of gas means extremely rich not lean.

A blower cam typically has wider lsa. This would not lend itself to raw fuel in the exhaust.

If you have raw fuel in the exhaust, you can look for a stuck or leaking injector, excessive fuel pressure, substantially out of range fuel calibration from the computer or even excessively advanced timing.

I am surprised you are not throwing a code.

I am about 40 to 50 hp low and the tuner said that I had a bad cam or a bad cam install but I opened it up and it looked ok
It "looked" ok? Do your eyes have a built in degree wheel? If not, then you really have no clue what you're looking at. "Dot to dot" could still mean it's 2-4 degrees out in either direction depending on the inaccuracy of the cam grind itself, and chain slop.

some kinda aftermarket cam I got for free don't know the specs
With statements like this, it's really no surprise your car doesn't make the power you want it to.

No.

Well, in that car an LS6 cam would be considered and aftermarket cam. This thread pretty much sucks and I am surprised it is still open. But I think we all want to see your next post.

Take it easy guys lol.The person who gave me the cam said it was a blower cam and he couldn't find the specs sheet for it.Now that I read a few of the post I can see why I'm low on hp.I made 320 hp or something around those lines and the power band fell on its face at about 3800 rpm.The smell from the exhaust is like a gas smell but I don't think its running rich (no black smoke).I tried taking a short cut by getting a free cam and now I will be spending some money on a na designed cam.About the timing where is it soppose to be for a stock application.I wanna compare to my timing now

No its was true, after posting I just didn't wanna get into the arguement...
My tuner sent me a stock LS2 tune corrected for the 44 lbs/hr injectors I had in the truck, just to get me down to his shop. The first pull unlocked came in at 268 rwhp, when he was done it made 326.7 rwhp unlocked in third.
