I would likely cry, but then again if I had the money for one, i could get another.

I'd pull the engine and trans and see what else could be salvaged for parts. I'm sure the brakes, rotors and rear diff would have survived at the very least.

LS9 4th gen anyone? Sad to see it happen, but **** happens at least it wasn't ultra rare.

Bummer. At least it wasn't occupied... That's one DIRTY Z! I think there are probably plenty of salvageable parts there, though really dirty. The body is pretty well done, but much of the other stuff is probably fine. Maybe even the wheels and tires. Of course, I wouldn't give 20K for it, probably even if it was next door to me. Unless I had a shop to keep it in.

I saw a photo of what appeared to be an early 70's Pontiac(thought maybe a 72 'bird), covered by debris from the tornadoes in Ohio the other day. It was yellow with black stripes and was basically crushed under the roof of the garage ... Looked terrible. However, the 7 people killed was far, far worse.

lol, i really hope this is sarcasm... "The original value of this ‘show piece’ is estimated at $107,805, but you can have it back out on the street again with a $20,000 bid and just $74,000 in repairs."

No way I would waste 20k on that.
I would drop at least 7k for the motor. =]

Just so ya know Brian the motor alone is a $23,000 motor from GM, I would say for whatever is salvageable like the rear and trans and engine and maybe some interior pieces with MAJOR cleaning, 20k is solid.
