Default Dual Mufflers in Cali: legal, or no?

I am looking to make an exhaust out of 2 Dynomax VT mufflers. Can I pass emissions with 2 mufflers rather than the stock muffler? Would a dual exhaust pass in Cali?

Thanks in advance for any help!

It's an after-cat change, so you're fine, with the exception of it being possibly too loud.

Care to elaborate on your set-up? I'd be interested in something similar. It is like the Bassani kit?

Ok under the axle, do you have any issues with clearance? That's where most of the under axle kits have an issue. Must sound like one mean **** though.

Both King Nothing and Blue MagicSS is correct.
If you wanna run true duals, either dumped, or run out back, youll pass as long as the cats arent moved from its place. secondly.. if you plan on running true duals dumped, the smog guys are lazy and dont wanna get under the car to put in that thing they use. lazy I know... but either than that.. your set man.

Hey Hey Hey.... HOLD UP... I AM A SMOG TECH!!! It's not about being lazy and not wanting to get under there... it's the fact that 1. it's not easy to get under a lowered car and probe the TD's dumped before the axle. 2. even if we did it's hard to keep the probe from falling back out OR rubbing on the dyno.

It's not just the fact that it's a PITA... we don't want to run the risk of damaging our equipment. Then we have to wait for the tech to come out, fix it, and then its a bunch of costly downtime for us. I for one know I've done a car or two with dumped exhaust... can't really gripe about it... it's money... Just my defense....
