Exclamation Help? Having a situation!!!!

I was driving home last night and then 2 blocks from my house I went over a puddle of water maybe about 2 inch deep. My engine slowly began to die. I had gone over the same puddle many times with no problem. Then my engine died. I turned it back on but it would die again. I tried one last time but then I heard really bad sounds. Is this signs of a possible hydro-lock situation? Thanks.

A 2" puddle seems hardly deep enough to hydrolock a motor unless you have an intake that reaches the floor.

If you are really concerned about water in your engine, I would remove all of your spark plugs and spin the motor over with the starter and see if water comes out of any of the holes. Then put or the plugs back in or install new ones and see if the car runs fine.

Took of the plugs and started to rotate the engine. I cannot get a full rotation on the engine since it gets stuck at a point. At that instant you can hear something scrapping the bottom of the oil pan. Seems like a bent rod? or is it something else?

I would do a final check to make sure it's not broken flexplate or something else unrelated to the rotating assembly.
If it is a bent rod, then that must have been a much bigger puddle than you thought or you splashed a good amount up into the intake.

Should have had a lt1 at least it would have only been the opti. Sorry to hear it's a bent rod; at least it did not go through the block, it was most likely already hurt.
