went to the finals yesterday... what an epic trip, got to go as a guest of wally parks grandson scott parks..hung out in the suite most of the day (never been in one of those) fully catered etc..got to talk to scott in length about the history of the nhra from a grandsons perspective, he's been coming to that race since 1971 and how the nhra has changed and shaped since then, did some walkin around with him and a couple of his buddies thru the vendors and waaaay back into the pits where we found big daddy don garlits who was very cool to talk to also...then migrated back to the suite where i had a very interesting convo with john bandimere about racing is the elevation vs here in pomona also met one of wallys life long friends but cant remember his name but he also took part in the saftey safari way back in the 50s....quite an intereting trip to the finals felt like a baller kickin it in that suite lol...anyone else make it yesterday??
