Painting my friends ws6**** UPDATED PICTURES, CAR FINALLY PUT TOGETHER As the title says it, Im going to be painting my friends 2001 ws6 shortly.
Im working at a ford dealership as a porter but since im the newest one and its been slow I got cut down to 32 hours a week, and now cut down to 24 so I decided to start doing small jobs on the side.
I went to high school to study auto body and now that I have been working at the dealership I have learned a lot more.
As some of you may know I have a 92 z28 that im getting ready for paint.
I have not painted it yet do to lack of money, finally decided to do it red.
My friend has seen my car since it was bare metal, and he wanted me to do his car. its a STOCK 2001 ws6 m6 black.
Im going to paint it black and yellow.
kind of similar to the trans am 2002 f15, which was suppose to be a beefed up CETA.
ill post pics tomorrow on the car and progress
i will be using
sealer: white
base: mango madness pearl and jet black
clear: HOK clear
it has a couple of dings around and i will be fixing all of them, today I took of front bumper, fenders, rocker panels, rear bumper, wing and started on the dents.
the fenders and wing and hatch are ready for paint.
this is what its suppose to look like.

imo black would have looked killer, but everyone like diff stuff
post pics of your ride once its done. i wanted my third gen black but its a hard color to keep clean

Im charging this guy 1200 Im doing alot of work, ill prob be making 300 profit if that.
Im jaming the whole car, using hok clear which is one of the best ones out there, fixing every single dent in the car, and just doing some good old body work.
Im taking everything off so i can paint it fenders, hood, doors, hatch, wing etc.
1200 I think is very very very cheap. Im including all the materials, plus after Im done with it im wet sanding and buffing the entire car.
Here in Vegas there asking approximately 300 to paint a fender, thats a base coat/clear coat solid color

I was going to charge him 950 for it being all black before i saw all the dents and dings on the rear quarters
I got the yellow paint, reducer, hardner and sealer today, im ordering the hok clear and black paint as we speak should be shooting the fenders and hatch this weekend if it doesnt rain

Here are some pictures from the ws6 I took today.
didn't do anything today was raining and a lot of wind.
I did get the clear, was going to use HOK, but went with dupont about same quality and cheaper.
and this is my 92 z28 after reprimering it gray, still need some body work on my doors will be ready for paint once I get my taxes will be viper red with black
I also sanded down my taillights and recleared them the other day, and my brothers too they look brand new

lmk what you guys think of the yellow, it does not have clear yet.
