Default Advise: Looking for a good tuner in So Calif that knows his LS1'S. Anyone have advise

Hey all:
I know of only one shop so far that does tuning for the LS1'S and that is Strictly Performance. Is there any other good tuners out there at all.
I live in So Calif in the Hemet area which is close to Riverside.
Thanks all

Might want to look at this as an option. A tuner coming to town I heard last time he was here everyone was happy with the work.

What kind of stuff are you looking to have done? I have HPTuner for 01-02, and if you wanted to swing down to San Diego we could do some tuning.

Are you stuck with getting with a tuner in just southern Cali or would you consider someone in a neighboring state. You should consider seeing Steve here at Combination Motorsports in Las Vegas.

Mechtech has been in numerous magazines. They are a little expensive, but if you want it done right go to them. They are in San Marcos

Performance Associates in San Dimas has done all of my tuning. Right off the 57 fwy at Arrow Highway. Randy there does all the tuning and has a ton of experience with LSx motors. It may take a bit of time, but he won't give the car back till its right.

I would seriously look into using the guy I did............my buddy drove around with just LT's & a catted-Y for a few months and he just fouled out his pass. side cat..........he didn't get it tuned for a couple months after adding just the headers/catted-Y. Gonna cost him upwards of a couple hundred bucks to get new cats & have them welded into place.

That would be an easy setup to tune. Why don't you just borrow an hp tuner cable and get it done. I could tune it for you for free if you had a cable. I use ls1 edit so I am locked to the computers already stored on my cable.

You use a combination of the computer read out on atap (ltrims, o2's, ignition timing and knock, as well as injector duty cycles). I also have a wideband O2 with a stand alone read out. I tune on a 3 mile highway over in the marina at night. It's more accurate than dyno tune because you get a real load on the car and the airflow. I've tuned about a dozen cars with better results then most of the local tuners.
