Best bet is to find the whole clip in one piece.. or at least a full drivetrain pullout with the harness/pcm/maf/clutch hydraulics/etc... That makes your life a lot easier and piecing it together will probably end up costing you a lot more in the end.

just get a complete car from an auto auction...its a lot easier, then you can part it out and get the motor/trans basically for free

LS1 cars are never near free. 6 gear cars are always 3-5000 from the salvage sale depending on miles/age...any ls1/t56 01-02 drivetrain is 5000-5500...

Yeah I'm not expecting to get one for free... and i'm not in need of a late model LS1... it would be nice but it's not apparent

i basically agree w/ aram and would like to get the whole complete front clip like he stated but anyway... whats a going price for an ls1 car at an auction? i've been to enough auctions in CA to know that it's never as cheap as anyone acts like it is

how much am i looking at for just a whole front clip from someone who is parting out a car??

copart is around 3-4000 for a good starting car...then you can still sell all the crap off of it. try to find one that was wrecked in back, thats what i did....its a lot easier. theres a copart in rancho cucamunga, and one in colton too, if they have nothing for you shipping a wrecked fbod for me was 600 from colorado
