Famoso Raceway. Anyone?
Just want to know if anyone here goes to Famoso Raceway. I know they're closed right now due to some maintenance, but I would like a head count on who plans to go to their test and tunes.

I go every time that I can. I'm not trying to stand up for the crew that runs Famoso (heaven knows I've told myself several times "I'm not going back") but the repaving was scheduled for next winter. The March Meet was finally cancelled because of unsafe conditions. The continual rain had caused seepage up through the asphalt sufficient to cause two bad wrecks back to back, whereby the track and the event was shut down, and the repaving moved forward to now. Unfortunately it has continued to rain and I have no idea what progress has been made. Their website mentions the schedule will be updated as they proceed and complete the project.

The private rental days can be very good to really bad, depending on how many cars are running with typical street radials (they tend to make the track slippery). If you're running slicks of some type, you should hook up. If drag radials, it depends on several factors, but most of the larger diameter wheel sized DRs don't hook well. Street radials (OEM type) are useless. I hope this helps.
