my buddy drove to texas for the first race ( a 8.20 street car) and didn't even make the field, all the cars picked were 'bracket" cars and "****" if you read the whole description on the web site, it says "even dragsters"??? so it's not a "all out" race, it's a bracket race!

^Truth. I don't think they stated exactly what they wanted for the Texas race so I heard of alot of good crowd pleasing cars being sent home.
Now that they said they want only 9 second cars, it's pretty much who can tune their car to go 9.0 consistantly without breaking unto 8's.

if they are only looking for 9 second cars, wouldnt that eliminate the purpose of the name? it wouldnt even be "all out" anymore....

Saw the episode in Texas. It's a pretty cool deal. "All Out" means you run your car as hard as you can, and don't drop below the time group they select. If you sand bag, it will show up sooner or later. You run two qualifying runs. Stay 9.0 to 9....whatever they are looking for. Then, if you qualify, you run heads-up against opponents until you are knocked out, or win the finals. If you were sand bagging during qualifying and were running 9.2's or so, and in order to beat the car you are racing, you run a 8.....whatever, you lose. It was a cool event. A trans-brake definetley earns it's keep in this event.
Oh, if you make it into the competition, they give you $1,000 to bet with. Then, you bet up to $1000 on your next round. You continue betting on your self until you are knocked out or win the finals for $18000 plus however much you bet. So, if you bet $200 on your first round, and lose, you still go home with $800. Sounds like a good deal to me.
