Default Vegas area info-need help

.

Might be moving to Vegas this fall. Wife wants to pack up and start over.

Can anyone tell me what's the drag racing scene like in the S/W. I will be bringing my T/S-P/M and both Camaro's. Is there a big T/S scene or series. We have 5-6 places in the Midwest I run for points. Just any comments (Good or bad) about living, working & racing in the desert. Besides it's 110. I already know it's going to be hard on me. I'm allergic to the sun.

What's the engine & chassis shop issues. Is everything sent back to Texas or ?? I would need guys that can work on 700+ BBC and 25-1E chassis.

While I'm here, is there a hockey scene in the area. We have season hockey tickets here in Chicago. Just wondering if there were places to skate and old fat guys can play hockey.

How hard is it to find land, the wife went out there to look at houses and they had nothing even close to what we have here. (3.3 acres, 4500' 5 beds and 4000' racecar shop. They told her nobody wants a big yard & racecar shop. She found 1 house with 1/2 acre. What the heck, where do you guys keep your rigs & work on your cars??

Thanks guys and future neighbors??

Checkout PSCAracing, they have a 3-4 vegas races a year and also do some souther california and arizona races.

Don't Know about Nevada but i know there are shops in California that could service your 25.1e car. LA and San Diego would only be a 4 hour drive.

In Vegas you won't find what you are looking for, You might get lucky In henderson in one of the custom home developments but be ready to pay $800K plus. The housing market is almost a crazy as Southern California. It might be cheaper just to rent out a small industrial space and keep everything there.

I'll let the NV guys chime in as far as Recreational activities in vegas

p.s. this little tid-bit of info might just cost you a bunch of annoying suspension questions if i ever see you at the track.

and Welcome to the western section.... don't take anything said seriously!

Thanks for the info. I'll search for PSCA. I'm actually looking for my old atlas so I can map out travel times to all the tracks.

Guess I have to get better with my Tig, if the nearest shop is 4 hours.

Money is no problem, I want my rig & cars locked up in my own shop out back so I can sleep. $800 + is not that nuts. The prices here are nuts. We are way way out in the boonies and it still cost 1.1 to build & it's only on 3.3 acres. That will give me more $ for toys. I'll tell the wife to check Henderson. She's been looking in Vegas.

I have no secrets, trust me, it's just an old P/S that was modified to P/M when it became illegal (5 year rule). I threw a glide in it for T/S. I let people use it for an example & ideas all the time.

It's just a 4xx something and an old fashion style small block some Crazy LSx so it will be nothing big.I don't care about weight anymore because I the times in my sig @ 3350# 's and I really can't get anymore out Iwill probably be heavier when I go 25.5 since I...might maybe need it....(lol)

Thanks, marine. I will put your number in my phone right now. I'll check out you're site when I'm done here. As soon as the wife decides what she really wants to do, I will get into finding a new shop & series to enter for next year. Any real estate agents with warehouses for sale please contact me here or at my web sites email. Thanks again.
