Wow it was a hot day today. I'm not too happy with my times but what can you do. My best of the day being 13.54@107. Pretty bad considering I ran a 13.51@106 with my catback and lid only. My best 60' of the day was 2.33 I need tires bad. For those of you that were there I was in a blue SS. Let me know what you guys thought.

Hey james, this is Kendall. To every one else i was the black on black Z28. I ended up running a best of 13.5 at 107 with a 2.2 sixty foot. I'm not too happy with that either, but considering it was so hot, and based on what similar cars were running, i'm ok with it i guess. I'm going to Irwindale this week to see if the cool night air can improve my sixty and eighth mile times. James, it was really cool meeting you and your dad. And everyone else we met down there were very cool too. All in all i had fun

Default I was there too...

Almost all Camaros and Firebirds were getting there *** handed to then by crappy Evos and Mustangs. My buddy with the black Z06 drove his car like crap also, he got beat by a Saleen 2 times, but he's still learning to drive the car after getting it dyno tuned.

There was one black camaro that was kicking *** which made me feel good but everyone else was getting their *** handed to them, I even saw a older Z06 get punked by a full size diesel truck.

Plus it was too hot. My other buddy Elco ran a 12.9 also. How about that Grand National that did 9.97 in the blazing heat? Those cars are quick.

I had a great time but it was just too hot.

Everyone we talked to said their times were all off today. I raced against james all day but i did destroy a lexus of some sort though. I ran those times on cheapo sumitomo tires which i found out today that they suck.

and that 9.96 was with me slamming on the brakes to try to keep it above a 10 sec run, but it didn't help..

yea, everyone's times were off due to the heat.. i was off about 3 ten's..

looking forward to the next event, i'm trying for a 9.49..

what happen to the Black Z06?? i was waiting to see a low 12, high 11 run..

Last time I was out there at a PSCA event it was pretty damn hot too and I ran going 12.70-12.80s on street tires. Not too fond of daytime racing haha

thats my GN, i was driving... i had to SLOW DOWN my runs due to the event only being a 10 sec or slower limit.. the car was running great all day long, i even got my best ET to date yesturday in the heat of the day (see above time Slip). she wasn't bogging.
The track manager was PISSED when i pulled out that 9.65.. i told him i would slow down but i couldn't pull it off.

here is my 9.69 run out at Bakersfield 2 fridays ago.. it was 96* out there too..

i was out there and met a few of the ls1tech guys. my best run of the day was a 13.4 at 112 with a 2.1. not very good, but what can i expect in the blistering heat. lol all in all, it was a pretty cool day and it was fun to be racing again. i'm gonna try to head out to fontana and see what she can do with some cold weather. last time i was out there i was hitting 8.0's.

p.s: interesting thing i noticed. at fontana my best run netted me a 8.6 1/8 at 82.x mph. at irwindale my best run netted me a 8.0 at 85. mph. why would my mile an hour be so different? that's .60 difference with 3mph difference? does this seem strange to anyone or just to me?

cooler temps at night, thats why... your MPH is your Horsepower. the colder the temps, the more HP your car makes, the faster your MPH will be..

i figured such, but it seems likes that's quite the difference in mph. i mean, considering it was colder at irwindale and i ran .60 faster, i would imagine my mph would have been faster than 85. who knows, maybe the car is running faster now. just needs to hook. i'ma try and be out at Irwindale. try to break into the 7's. good run with the national. i saw it out there and was like "damn that's a badass car!"

Thanks, it has taken me 3 years to get her where she is at.. i was at Irwindale last Thursday night and with the same tune i pulled a 6.09 ET with a 1.39 60ft at 114.9mph.. yesturdays run was only a 6.18 at 113mph with a 1.47 60ft.. the ET was effected by the 60ft and the MPH was effected by the HEAT.. i run a very large intercooler, which helps with trying to keep the air temp down but it can only do so much.. i'm looking into a NOS spray cooling system for the intercooler.. once that is installed my car shouldn't be effected that much by hot outside temps.

sounds like you have a nice running SS...

You thought your times were bad you should have raced last night over at LACR, where even stock c5 vettes were running 14.2s.
