Default t56 or MN12

Want to buy a 6 speed... I have been searching for awhile, and yeah, I have come across a few on the for sale section, but I was wondering if there was anyone with an MN12 or T56 trans lying around... if you have one that is messed up, but not too badly, I would be interested because I need a core. MN12 preferred but if you have a t56 I am just as interested. Will also buy a perfect tranny if you have one... I also need the MC, pedal assy, all sensors, clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder etc etc... need for swap into auto...
money in hand..
thanks..
Brad

just to help you out, the mn12 and t56 are the same. they are two designations for the t56 mn12 and mn6, mn6 is seen in 98+ls1 camaros and c5's and the new z06, and the mn12 is found in 04+gto's, 01-04 z06's and c6's

well, the mn12 has a bit different gear ratio I have heard, and they dont exactly "bolt right up" into a factory t56 car... the shifter cup is different, from what i have heard... regardless I would like either tranny..

well the mn12 has a different gear ratios, but the tranny cases themselves are the same, if you get a tranny from 04+ gto it will bolt to a 98+ f-body bellhousing, (need to use the f-body bellhousing) . as far as a it being geared closer, it is not, its just geared lower in 1-3, but it has a big drop between the 3-4 shift. i personally prefer the mn6 tranny with a 3.90 or 4.10 rear end. i have had them both, my z06 came with mn12, and i swapped to a mn6.

Great info Ryne... I was wondering the differences.. and I knew the cases were the same, but had heard alot about the different gearing in the first couple of gears, but not 3.... but what about the quicker shifting I heard was possible with it... like it had different synchros or something... hear anything about that?

yeah mn12's and the later mn6 (none of the f-bodies), have (i believe its called) triple cone synchros, which are more durable.
