I agree 110%. My car will be regged in my home state as soon as I get the money up to pay sales tax. I got really lucky though, mine fell into the "C" class for smog and I'm good for another year since the dealer smogged it when I bought it.

A little known fact is that if you can show that sales tax has been paid on the vehicle, you are exempt from paying tax.

Example: I paid cash for my car based on a sales price of $8K. When I registered it in CA, I got a receipt showing this. If I sold the car say to someone in TX, they could show I paid STATE SALES TAX on it and that amount would be applied to the tax owed. Hypothetically speaking, the tax assessed would be less than what was originally paid; therefore, you would owe nothing.

yeah just googleall the shops near you...and tell them they have 100 if htey pass you...now ifyou ses is on..then you'r gonna have to take another car thats about the same years as you'rs so that car could pass the emmisoins...

although most shop owners wont tell you yes over the phone thinking you myght the cops or something..so its better if you go straight to them and show them themoney
