Screwed by mechanic!!!!
OK heres the story....my mom took her van to this shop(same shop for 10 years) cuz it was overheating. they said it was the gasket and that was it($900 job btw). well a month later.....overheating.Now they said "oh the head is warped". They didnt fix it cuz it woulda been too expensive..but its not overheating....yet. So they probably put some bs in the radiator. SO my question is aren't they supposed to check to see if the head is warped when they do the gasket!!!!!!

If the head were alumin. they should have been sent to a machine shop for inspection
hands down, cast heads you can usually get away with doing a visual inspection for cracks. Sounds like you got the shaft on this deal. We do head gaskets all of the time, 75% if they are alumin. the head (s) have to be replaced.

I'm not sure how the law works, but I'd say take it back and make them either fix the warped head, or put a NEW head on it for free! If they don't, then just get a lawyer and take them to court. I'm sure just about any lawyer would jump on it probably for free! (guaranteed win). As long as you have the receipt for the previous work. That is definitely a screwed up job. Everybody and anybody that works on cars for a business knows that if the head gasket is leaking, and you have to remove the head, you check the head and block for warpage and cracks. I myself am a mechanic and I believe you got jipped!
Good Luck, and btw, Nice pic!!!

I don't think I would condemn the head unless further testing and analysis proved otherwise. Do a vaccumm test on the cooling system, and a compression test on all cylinders to rule out all doubt.
Oh, HI LUKE!!!
