Default I Got The Call!!!!!

thats right after weeks of antagonizing the insurance company they told me how much there paying me. $18,500!!!!!! i thought i was only gonna get $14,000, but thank god for met life insurance. What doesn't make since is it says i owe $13,000 on my car still. When out the door the car was almost $17,000. I paid a $5000 down payment and payed $2000 in payments over the last 6 months of owning the car. Shouldn't it be only at around $10,000? Where are they getting the extra $3000 from? any help for any of you who've financed a car will help alot.

Maybe that 3k is the interest calculated out to the life of your loan. What you would have paid in interest if you paid the payments as normal. Either way congrats on getting more for it than it's worth.

well depending on who you financed thru, there might be a early pay off penalty and paper work fees and of course the intrest you owe them, for whatever reason, i dunno man this is something you will have to talk to them about..

good job thou, 18,5 not bad i got 10,8 for mine

not yet, but ive already done some talking with a guy in Pomona for a 96 SS. talked him down to $7500. told him id buy it as soon as i got the money, just hoping he doesn't sell it first. If i only get 5k back from the insurance ill just go get a $2500 load and go get the car, ill argue with the finance company about the huge overage later.

Ya its a nice car for a really good price, But my minds made up. I'd love to have an F-body again. But I wont have one this decade. My insurance would be catastrophic since it would be ruffly the same car i crashed in. And i already had my mother beg and plead that i wouldn't just go by another one after the crash. She still thinks the car is the reason i crashed, when i tried to enplane it was bad tires, weather, and driver error.

Call the finance company and ask them what the payoff today is. If you are looking at the account online and that is the balance showing then it is factoring in the intrest that would be paid over the course of the loan.
