i would consider midget racing like the world of outlaws drifting, and theyve been doing that before japan had a car company. also circle track racing is another form of racing, another thing, just in the last 10-15 years the japs had a car capable to even break the tires loose for that long, so i deff think the us was the first one to do this sort of racing

All good points. They have always been a nation of copiers, so no surprise.

Mainstream Rally events started in the early 70's. Japs actually started drifting in the mid-80's in the local mountain passes. There was a show documenting it a couple years ago. It got really popular over there in the early 90's then came over here 2002-2003 and BLEW UP.

We have been doing it ALOT longer, like mentioned before, POWER SLIDE. The main drive to learn how to do it was Rally. They use it a hell of alot to shave course times and keep momentum through tight curves.

i dont know about that , i still remember the early Mangos , S57s , Prince 2000Gts, S40 Glorias , and all them cars in the moutains and Grand Prixs

most of which start in 57-60 , but evolved and dont forget the Hakosukas that start in 69
