Default Whistler Halo's?

Alright so me and mike (sommer86) are at my place and we are about to do the whistler mod to his lights, he sees my black housing halos and notices that some of the interior is chrome...suggests that if we paint that part black it would probably look sick...so the question here is this...will the halo light be alright if i pop them in the oven to separate the lens from the housing? or will i mess up the halo if i open it up?

That would be the area that would be painted black...just like in the whistlers!
