Thumbs down got pulled over last night........

my girlfriends prom was at dana point on sat. ,and off the topic, power 106 fm was there with lil' rob. anyway i was gonna jump on the free way on my was back home when this light is behind me. ****!!!!!!!! im thinking ticket for illegal parts. the officer says that if i noticed i dont have my headlights on, i said yea ( i drove with the fog lights only since my alternator is not working)and then asked me why i has revving my engine. i told him i have alternator problems,(which i do), and my car tends to want to turn off so i have to step on it so it does not die. long story short he gave me a ticket for no headlights and no proof of insurance( which i have but has not arrived in the mail yet) so i have to get it taken off and explain to the judge why i didnt have my lights on......................weird how he didnt give me a ticket for exhaust when i have pretty big cam(232),longtubess,no cats ory and stall.

I drive my car around town with no cutout, and I have yet to get hassled. I think a car has to been insanely loud for a cop to give them a ticket for an exhaust.

I could be wrong.

Very true. I have a buddy with a GT mustang, his exhaust consists simply of a Flowmaster, and up until about 3000rpm my car is barely louder than his even though I have LT's, ORY and true duals (after 3000rpm a bit different story). There is a significant difference in the sound itself of course, mustangs exhaust seem to fill the air (dont know how else to describe it) but anyways, yea you would have to be extremely loud/driving crazy to be pulled over, at least around here.

They'll reply that you shouldn't have been driving at night then.

the difference is... your exhaust ticket has to do with "modifying" your car, which is in relation to emissions... CA is a stickler about emissions...

he just had a light out and no insurance... both are fixed pretty easy...

he just needs to provide proof of insurance at the time of the citation, and the headlight is really up to the judge, but I imagine once he explains his case the judge will be pretty leaniate...

Should have towed it or waited till morning. There's no excuse for driving an unsafe and illegal vehicle. (not my words, I'm playing Devil's advocate)
