Default Fontana Dragstrip Noise Rules

Autoclub Speedway's website says the dragstrip requires all cars run exhaust through street mufflers. Do they enforce this? Anyone on here get **** for using a cutout?

I ran mine with the cut outs open at the last Street legal. I pulled up to tech w/ them open, asked if there would be a problem running that way? He said, "I don't see why not." I know the web site says they enforce a 95db level, and all cars are monitored, but I don't think they really enforce it. I think you will be fine.

You're fine. Ran there twice with open cutout and there were cars a LOT louder than mine. Oh, btw both times I was there the right lane was quite a bit better then the left.

I agree. I think to be able to call it "Street legal" they have to follow somebody's (NHRA) guide lines? The times I've gone they definetly were not enforcing them.
MAXX.......I would make sure you have a way to close that cut out at the track, just in case. It's a long drive (for me anyway) and a lot of waiting just to get turned away.

There's a decibel limit because its a "street legal" race and you're supposed to bring your street cars and race on the track, not the street.

I have two mufflers on my car, a race muffler in the i-pipe and a Magnaflow in the regular spot, with a cutout before it goes over the axle. Last time I was at the street legals, I asked the lady tech, and she said the exhaust must come out the rear tailpipes. When I was at the LA Invasion, I had the cutout open and my car really wasnt that loud. I have seen them check your tailpipes and kick people out, however.
