Default anyone do rear end work?

i noticed my rear end is leaking and from what i've read on here its common. i would like to do whatever i can so i followed a few links here and there and found a nice overhaul kit from EPP http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...html?item=1009

they also have a new cover i could throw on there http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com....html?item=510

anyways so for about $230 i can get both these upgrades... smart move or should i do something else? (besides a 12 bolt or 9")

Why not just drain and refill the diff and throw a new gasket on?

If your not hearing any noises (whistling, grinding, etc) just replacing the fluid and gasket should be fine.

I put the TA cover and stud kit (for the bearing caps) on my SS. If you are running an automatic and don't have too much power, you should be OK.

Its when you start running slicks, that you kill your rear.

My 383 IROC never had any issues on its stock rear end, and I was running GSC-S soft compound shaven tires.

I just went into my rear end (interpret that as you will) to replace my axle bearings, and I wouldn't go to all the trouble of a full rebuild if I were you. I wouldn't pay for it either. Just change the fluid and gasket and keep saving for a 9", IMO.
