Default whats the deal with my traction?

Lately my car has been loosing traction every time i hit WOT not just launching but in second too. My tires still have a decent amount of tread and I have all the suspension mods. Besides getting new tires, should I try adding or taking out air? Or could something else be the problem here

How much psi do you run on the street and track? What kind of tires are you using? Is it lowered at all? Do you have LCA relocation brackets installed?

When I had street tires on my car with just exhaust and a lid I would spin all the way through second.Stange that it is just starting to loose traction unless your tires are either weathered or have low tread.

I don't remember what my psi is, I'll have to check when I get home later. My tires and kumho's and I don't have the relocation brackets (never really knew about those, any good?)

I know what you mean, my car would spin a little too but quickly grab again and I wouldn't have to let off the gas. Now I HAVE TO let off the gas for my car to grab again.

I never even installed the LCA brackets I bought, they sat in my room for over a year before I resold them.

I was running Kumhos at one point and they were the worst tire I have ever used for traction and it only got worse over time. I would maybe lower the pressure depending on what it is set at and see if it helps, but gas mileage will suffer if you go too low.

The LCA relocation brackets correct the lower control arm angle when you are lowered. That should help.

Other than that invest in some sticky tires.

Nittos wouldn't be that expensive.

I heard those last like 10,000-12,000 miles. Some getting more than that. Not bad for a drag radial.

Those are the tires I will be getting in the near future.

Your tires might be a little soft at the end. Even if they have a lot of tread they might be warn down to wear the tread that is in contact with the ground is old and a little slippery.

do you think your traction is affected by wrapping/not wrapping your headers?

bfg drag radials work pretty good on the street for life/traction....as long as your not doing burnouts every where you go you can usually get almost 10k miles out a set...

Has anyone taken into accountability that he might have added a bolt on? or the streets have been a little colder that were in fall? Maybe just not enough gas in the tank so not enough weight in the back?

Agreed, this is what I was thinking. So, to clarify, you haven't made any additional modifications to your car and it now spins whereas you used to hook?

For starters, Kuhmo's aren't great but like it was said earlier, check the tire pressure. Another thing you can is check how the tread is being put down. After you check the tire pressure, do a small rolling burn-out . Is the rubber patch even across? If it's darker in the center, then you have too much air in the tires. If it's darker on the outsides of the patch, you have too little air.

Well, that'll do it. Headers make a sizeable difference in torque and horsepower.

i did loose a little traction after all my bolt-ons, but now its really bad.. so you think my tires just crapped out?
