Default 2002 SS With 132,000

Im thinking about getting an 02 SS with 132,000 miles on it, 6spd, they want $9000, should I try to talk them down? I have to go look at if first but from the pix the car looks very clean. What other maintenace tasks should be performed besides the fluids, brakes etc. This will be my 1st F-Body so what should I look out for? Im also not too concerned with the miles cause within a couple of months im going 2 build a 427 LS2 motor for it.

see if it needs anything then make an offer. as you know with that kind of mileage itll need some type of repairs eventually.

not a bad price for an 02 SS with that mileage. I've seen older higher mileage Z28 and SS asking more than that. But it also depends where you live and what the demand is for them. I'd try and offer them 8000-8500K and see if they take it but $9K wouldn't be out of the question if it looks clean.

If you're doing a motor swap soon I guess don't worry too much about it other than if it looks clean enough and worthy enough to put work into it. You also have to consider other stuff like tranny, rear end and suspension.

Honestly, I would keep shopping around. That is a lot of miles and you could probably find one for less with a lot less miles. That's just my opinion though.

I wouldn't pay more than $6500 for it with that many miles. For $9000 you should be getting into a mint condition SS with 32k miles; not 132k.

with the power levels you want ,you will need a upgraded tranny and a 9" or 12 bolt rear.you want sub frame connectors, and after market suspension parts.you will need a bigger fuel pump.

I'd definitely pass on that "deal"
If you plan on swapping motors, you can easily find a car with milage like that for around 5k.

Ill deff keep looking around then, but the Z28s and SS's only show up once every couple of months up here in CT, I might go take a look at it tomorrow, and see if I can get the price rediculously low like $6500, otherwise ill pass, I dont want the tranny or rear end shitting on me when I beat on it a little bit.

I bought a 98Z for $1,000. with 200,000 miles on it last year. It runs perfect and looks like a nearly new car. But I see that this was the exception, not the rule. Guess I got lucky.

Well I looked at the car 2day and it is very clean, pretty much spotless, evrything sounds and looks good, and its got evrything in an F-Body I want, but im still turned off by the mileage. I think I might pass on it, and hope that I find another clean SS for cheap in CT cuz they are a dime a dozen.

I have a 2000 SS with 40,000 miles on it for sale at $9500.00.
Dark Blue, tan leather, SLP Build number 4328. New Firehawk tires, Center Mount Exhaust, excellent conditon. Hartford is about 2 1/2 hours from me...but it would be worth the trip, honest
Let me know, I can send you pics. Car is on AutoTrader.com at $10,250
Rather see it go to someone who will appricate at 9,500.

Thanks,
Steve
