Default Noob Help!!! 1999 WS6 w/mod's????

A friend of mine has a 1999 TransAM WS6, 6-speed, white with 149,560k mile's on the body, it has a 6.0 ls2 swap, Minor head work, cam, Header's, 3" exhaust straight back to duel's, Moser9" rear end, zr1 wheel's, full wet nitrous kit, extra set of slick's(new) and a set of brand new black zr1 wheel's. He has dyno sheet's that the car made 445whp 430lb/tq on motor alone. The 6.0 has less than 25k mile's, It's pretty quick, and runs really good.

KBB is under 5700.00...

He want's $12,500, is this car worth that..keep in mind the body in near excellent condition, and everything works perfectly.

The car has not seen the n20 yet.

I tried to get him down at 11k but he's not budging....

should I buy?

People are asking crazy amounts for ls1 cars these days, I think it's to combat the low KBB and NADA values. I think it has had a ripple effect, and when one owner sets the high price, other follow to try and change the market.

Bottom line is...no, it isn't worth anywhere near 12.5k. Don't look at what people are asking, look what people are getting. If you check completed listings on ebay, you'll see what I'm talking about.

I would say a stock model with that year and mileage could go for 5.5-7.5k. Now for someone looking for a built car, it's worth more. To the right buyer, I could see it selling for 8-9k since it has the 9 inch and newer motor. It's still a 12 year old car with 149k on it in the end. I would say paying 10k or more would be insane. Do you seriously want to pay double the blue book? I'd keep waiting for sure.

I think someone is playing a belated April 1 joke on you. This seller is going to be waiting a real long time!!
