Default looking to buy an fbody.

iv been looking for a camaro for some time and came across this one for 4500.
http://odessa.craigslist.org/cto/2401835792.html

i have a few questions.
1 is it even close to worth as he is asking?
2 how rare is the color?
3 what would you offer for it personally?
4 its way passed time for a rebuild on engine and trans?

IMHO,

1.Close but with 200K miles and the paint issues and body damage I might say $1000-$2500.
2.see this site CLICK HERE. It says 1,789 out of 48,490 were cheyenne red.
3.see answer to 1.
4.probably needs tranny gone through and refreshed. engine may need bearings/reseal.
You need to drive it and look at it and trust your judgement. If it seems like a good deal make an offer if it's a money pit...just walk.

ive seen that one. i look around the NM area since my mom lives in carlsbad. the one i posted caught my eye cuz of the color. its sick and my price range is about 4.5k so i dont mind looking for a fixer up and if i could pick up this one for cheap i could get it all rebuilt and come out on top. lol

What I would be worried about is resale on something like that. You're talking about putting money into a 200+k mile car. You put 2 grand in just to get it back into shape and you have 6500 into something worth 3500. Just look at it in the long run too, you will have to sell it eventually and anything with 220,000 miles is gonna be a hard sell no matter what you do to it.

Your heart is in the right place but reality will settle in after about 6 months. I doubt you will own this car very long. Ghetto Ty is right on the money with his advice. By the way, $4500 is insane!

This is what I was thinking, any car with that kinda miles is bound to need repairs sooner or latter. I mean to get the cosmetic stuff taken care of that he listed your talking at least a grand. I would rather spend 4500-6500 and get a car with 130k then buy a car with 200k and put 2 grand into it to fix random stuff wrong with it

I would pay 2 grand max for it
