It depends on so many more details. An LT1 car with over 100,000 miles for $6,000?? Not likely but how can anyone even guess without the details? Does it need tires, or brakes or ??? We don't even know if the car is modded to hell and back with a bad title and 16 year old owner, or is a well-maintained 'stock' highway cruiser with clean Carfax and clear title. If the first scenario was true, I wouldn't pay $2,000 for it. The 2nd scenario, maybe. Or is it somewhere in between? Help us out in order to help you out for a real answer instead of guessing and throwing numbers around that mean nothing.

Also, how many salty snow days has this car seen over the years. It could be ready to bust out in some area's too. That also needs to be considered since I believe NC does see some snow. I would look for a west coast car from southern California, but most of them tend to be very sun beaten.

3 owners. The previous 2 were older, the current one looks to be in his 30s. My guess is it was well maintained (looks to be for sure). The guy has a bunch of performance parts for sale on craigslist for some of his other rides (which seem to be built right). This is what leads me to believe it's been taken care of. The tires are 10 months old, great tread. Clean title. Here are some pictures:

I also got it to $6500 with a new set of richmond 3:73 gears, 58mm bbk throttle body, granatelli mass air flow sensor, and the original shifter (has short throw on it now). Only mods on the car is a BBK under drive pulley. The parts listed are new in box.

The car is originally from Florida, where it saw most of its miles. Apparently it has been garage kept up until 6 months ago.

OK, that helps out. Thanks! As far as appearance, the car looks Fair to Good. It appears that the driver's seat is ripped up by the bolster unless I'm not seeing the picture correctly. The carpets look dirty too. Does that mean he doesn't care about maintenance either?? Just asking. Maybe that stuff isn't important to you. The personalized tags indicate one of two things: he has been racing the living hell out of it or he is just being I'd like to know the answer before laying out top $$. $6,500 would be an awful lot for this LT1 with that mileage. I don't know the mods cost so I can't help you there. I wouldn't touch the car for anything over $5,000 as I have a feeling that car needs things. If you lay out $6,500 and need to add $1,500 into it over the next 6 months you would have real trouble getting anything close to $8,000. That would be a real hit to the wallet if you needed to sell. Perhaps a $3,000 - $4,000 hit. Ouch! Good luck either way, if you buy it or if you continue the search.

** Look at the car (an LS1 T/A) that Shuck is trying to sell in the thread just below this one (at the moment anyway). I don't know the car at all or him but his car sure seems to be light years ahead of this one and for money that is very close. One weekend of cheap motels and fast food to pick it up can be worth a lot.

Autocheck shows from 2006-PRESENT it's only been driven 8,000 miles. The car spent 88,000 miles in California (San Diego area). From there it went to IL, OH, and now VA.

I don't know it being driven only 8,000 miles in the past makes a difference for the better or not. The drive seat does have a rip. I'll upload some higher res. pictures and you might think it's in better shape, I don't know.

Click for the higher resolution version.

Attachment 729674

Attachment 729675

BBK Power-Plus Series Throttle Body (58 mm) - $329
Granatelli Motor Sports Mass Airflow Sensor - $289
Hurst Shifter - $193
Richmond 3:73:1 gears : $197
Total: $1008

That's $1008 in parts that I'd end up putting in it eventually. I figured that's $5500 for the car, or $500 for the parts, depends which way you look at it. That's not including the BBK under drive pulley (~$100) and hurst comp short throw ($189-200). The parts are always lower used of course.

Lastly, KBB on the vehicle is like $5600, NADA is about $8000 (don't think NADA knows what it's talking about when it comes to SS LT1s).

I would pay 5k max for it, although it looks nice the value of LT1's have dropped alot especially since LS1's can be bought for so cheap.

Im in the process of looking for a new car too, and one thing I have noticed is people who have LT1's listed in the 6-8k range don't really have luck selling them unless there is something special about the car. Same thing with people with LS1 cars trying to sell them for 10-14k in average condition with over 100k. They just seem to sit. I know its hard but I would wait until you find the right car at the right price, the last 2 LS1's I've bought had around 100k and I got them for between 6-8k just have to be patient.
