Default totaled 01 02 ws6 t56

Im thinking about converting a 97 bird to the 98-02 style ws6. I am thinking if I just get a low mile salvage one that will be my best bet and I was wondering what would be the price range that I should expect? I would want an 01 02 ws6 with a t56 and about 80,XXX miles or less.

I would say $2.5k - $3k depending on the damage and condition of drivetrain. You would definitely be better off buying what you want than converting. At the end of the day, you'll end up losing money. Sell the bird and buy what you want.

I buy a lot of them...if you can find a 01-02 M6 with low miles for under $4500 you stole it!

Here's the way I see it: You have a 97 Firebird V6, I'm assuming. If it runs okay, you can get about $2k for it. You can then find a 98-00 WS6 with under 100k for about $6k. At that point, you have what you want for $4k, but you have an original car that will be somewhat desirable when you want to sell it. If you do the conversion, you'll be investing $3k in the donor car and probably get nickel and dimed another grand or so for parts needed to do the conversion since the donor car will have some sort of damage. So you end up paying $4k for a car that you'll have a hard time selling. I guess if you don't plan on selling it and want the experience of doing the conversion, it will be worth it then.
