Default 2001 Auto Formula Firehawk

I have a chance to get an 01 automatic formula firehawk. Its pewter with black leather and has 112k on it. 2 owner car, clean title. Has on obx full exhaust with ORY and slp loudmouth cat back. Has a couple paint blemishes just from normal driving.

How much is it worth to buy?

It depends on many other issues, especially the history of the car. Who was the last owner? A 16 year old kid that burned it up or a middle aged guy that racked up highway miles going to work? How about needs (tires, brakes, etc..) or maintenance? Those 112,000 miles indicate that the car will need things much sooner than later in most cases. When negotiating a price, that means allowing for repairs to give you some wiggle room without spending too much overall. There is basically no collector factor involved with this Firehawk either, due to the miles. Having said all this, the price should be in the $8,000 or less neighborhood. Even though it is a 2001 model, you don't want to have over $10,000 invested in this high mileage car. You would never see close to that if you had to sell and trade-in value is less than $6,000. Good luck! Hopefully it is a decent car that is priced right. This is a buyer's market. DO NOT OVERPAY!!

I'll go a little higher at $9,000, as long as it's a mostly original, well kept example. As far as collectability, I think as time passes, a high mileage Firehawk will prove to be much more collectable than a low mileage WS6. I had my eye on a 99 Firehawk on Ebay. It had 130k with a dent on the rear quarter and some clear peeling. It was posted multiple times and consistently hit $5,600-$5,900 without the reserve being met. I figure that if a higher mileage '99 with lousy body can almost hit $6k, then an 01 in good shape should be able to fetch about 50% more. Good luck.

i disagree with nc01ta.. 01/02 ws6 tas with 100k plus are selling for 9k still.. and there is no comparison between the ws6 and firehawk. firehawk formula is worth way more, especially since they didnt even make a 01/02 ws6 formula.. so the only way to get one other then stock formula would be a firehawk, trans am firehawks are dine a dozen, u dont see formula firehawks out at all. so id say if you buy it in the 10/11k range its worth it if its clean.. did you call slp and see how many they made of them?
