Default What price to pay?

I've got a 2000 Firebird V6 auto (75k) , looking to upgrade to a V8 / M6 F-body. I'm planning to look at a Z28 and an SS this weekend, and I'm wondering what everyone thinks this car is worth?

1999 SS w/ 73k - $11000:

To me this seems high, especially up here in a new england climate. I haven't seen this yet but I'm expecting the same amount of rust (underbody and driveline mostly) thats on my firebird for a 13 yr old car in a northern climate. I'm thinking trading my firebird + $3000-$5000 is reasonable. Am I low-balling or is this car listed a little high? Just looking for a few opinions before I go and make a bad deal / jackass of myself.

It looks nice, value to me looks like in the $7500 - $8000 range. of course that's just my opinion, and it appears to be at a dealership of some sort. Good luck!

Yea I see that its at a dealer, I'm willing to pay a little extra to not have to deal with selling my car myself. I'm pretty much ready for the upgrade as I'm on my 3rd f-body V6.

i think you can find something better with a personal seller.. maybe something modded for 11k ( depending on your goals), but since you are trading in, it might be the only way to go. i just hate dealing with dealerships cause alll the hidden fees..

I 'd say your v6 is worth about $5k in private sale at best.
Dealership will at most will try to give you $4k.
I'm sure you know that but the idea of not spending your time to selling your v6 is very appealing.

With 73k miles on that ss, I wouldn't pay more than $9k.

Agreed, its worth losing some money on the V6 to not have to spend a few weeks trying to sell it to me. $9k is pretty much right what I was thinking its worth, I'll have to see if this guy wants to play ball.

Thanks for the input everyone.
