Default 01 SS SLP w/ 13k miles

Looking at a 2 owner pewter 01 SS m6 with 13k miles and all paperwork down to a nail in the tire. Has ebony leather seats. No accidents, scratches, dents and etc. Car is tastefully modded with full slp exhaust, cam, and dyno tune. Has all receipts for every part bought, and all work was done by a local shop. Making 419whp and 389wtq. Car comes with all stock parts to put back to stock. Has around 500 miles on mods and never seen a track. How much should I pay?

Sounds ok for the miles on it. I bought my 01 SS with 13k miles on it 3-4 years ago for $17k. I'd offer 14-15k maybe as a starting offer.

I've been trying to work him down more, but he's pretty firm at 17. Car is immaculate. I didn't find a single scratch or rock chip on it.

With the cam and mods, NO, $17,000 is wishful thinking on the seller's part. Oh sure, he might get it but I wouldn't bet on it. Once you mess with the engine, even on an ultra low mileage car like this, you have eliminated about 75% of the buying market. I wouldn't consider it either. Why? People think driven hard and there is no escaping that conclusion no matter who did the work or any claims by the seller. A 2nd owner car is also worth less $$. Why did the first seller let it go with so few miles, and now why is this seller letting it go with so few miles as well?? Certainly not unreasonable questions. Were they both 'collectors'? That would be a long shot. 1,200 miles driven per year is rather unusual by one owner but it does happen occasionally (look at my SS below), but 2 owners doing the same thing? Again, possible but I'd sure like some facts and you should not assume anything. I agree with djfury05's post above. $14,000 - $15,000 offer and let the buyer call you back when he gets no takers at his $17,000 price. Patience on your part will be key if you really want the car. I would not pay his price. No way!

Not sure about the first owner, but current owner spent most of his time deployed. He is relocating to another base next month and doesn't want to pay for shipping and then storage because he's deploying again when he gets there. He hasn't really had a chance to enjoy it, and doesn't want it to continue to sit up. He's owned it for 3 years.

That certainly sounds plausible and elimninates some questions. I still say to wait him out. He has a time frame apparently to sell (which works in your favor) and the price will come down, especially if he knows he has a buyer. YOU! Good luck!

If you go over seas they ship your first car free , a second car will cost you.. Also they offer storage as well do.. When you move state side it costs you to move your car but I have moved my car on a trailer pulled by a uhaul truck to my next base .. Now very hard to do .. An they even reimburse you most back ..any ways I would say 14-15
