Depends. You didn't mention condition. How many owners? Who is the current owner? It certainly matters if it's a 16 year old learning how to shift. On the other hand, it also could be extremely positive if the GTO was a one owner who kept a history of all the maintenance. How's that clutch? Any need for tires or repairs? Everything matters and affects price.
If the seller is asking $15,000 it better be a one or two owner in superb condition with no needs of any kind. It's all downhill in pricing from there, right down to $12,000 for a multi-owner car in fair condition. More info please...

Yeah, you are certainly thinking right about price but too bad it is at a dealer. It is unlikely you will find out the true history of the car. You might get lucky but you'll probably get the "owned by a little old lady" speech.

Clean car, clutch didnt seem 100% and the rear seats starting to spilt at the tops.

Still a clean car. I offered 12 for it. No dice.

Oil was clean but a tad low, I'm guessing an auctioned car. Never seen a carfax on it

Hey, good try! Dealerships are tough. I'm surprised they didn't call you back though and at least counteroffer.

i have learned dealers prey on the spontaneous buyer. The "Oh hell I want a sports car today!" kinda buyer,...OR one of those buy here pay here "lets rape a poor guy with crappy credit on this car" kinda dealerships..... I am neither.... I'm the shopper who will find a deal when i find it.... and i used to feel bad about low balling folks on their cars, but damn if your gonna ask 5 grand more than it even books for clean retail price (let alone trade value!) then i dont feel so bad about offering you 2-3k below the retail...

even tho i aint borrowing the money banks usually only loan 80% of a car value, so what gives on these stupid prices?

note to self, typically when a dealer gets in a car they assign it a stock number. When i sold it went like this....
new trucks were "T555" the "T" stood for new truck. New cars were a "C555" and auction cars were just a number "5555" when the vechicle was sold, the trade in became the old stock number + "A". So "T555" would become "t555a" the next trade in would become "t555b" etc.....
