Default 2002 White WS6 cammed

Whats it worth? 2002 WS6, 136k miles, white exterior, ebony interior, 6 speed, Spec stage 3 clutch, 4:10 gears, coated LT's, electric cutout, TSP torquer V3 cam, matching springs & pushrods. *MAIL ORDER TUNE*

Below are pics of the flaws. Engine bay is filthy. Crack in the tail light, some wear on drivers seat which isnt too bad, bumper with paint flaking off. Tire thread looks to have alot of wear.

They want 9500 firm.

What do you guys think? Its the EXACT car I want but I think their price is too high.

Uh, no. That car has not been well taken care of. Walk away. If you have $9500 to spend,
you will find something much nicer if you are patient.

Priced too high. Pass on this one. A poorly maintained ride is never a good one to purchase, never mind a modded car with 136,000 miles on it. Potentially a real 'money pit'. Imagine laying out $9,500 for that T/A and needing a few grand put into it over the course of the first year. A very likely scenario. You could possibly have $12k into it and not be able to unload it for $7,000. A $5,000 hit and a miserable ownership experience. Think about it.
You can buy a much better car than this one for that $$.

No, I do not know that car firsthand but I have been doing this long enough to tell that it has been driven hard and not well maintained. He is asking way above book value but did not take the time to clean up the car at all. That speaks volumes. By the way, $10,000 recently bought me a 2000 Firehawk 6 speed with 84,000 on the clock. The market is saturated with great deals if you are willing to be patient and take the time to look.

Thanks guys.

KBB says this car is in "good" condition and values it at $8581

From what you see, what would you say the car IS worth?

What are you guys seeing about this car to say its only worth 5 maybe 6 grand???

I agree $9500 is high (they told me they would do $9000) but 5 or 6G???

So it needs a dyno tune, new tires, clean up the engine & engine bay and touch the paint up on the bumper. That stuff is not a "flashing red light" to me.
Yes that's going to cost some money but it's not that difficult to get this car back into very nice shape.

The car has a 136k on it, but the price has to be right for the mileage. That's what I'm looking for - a high mileage car. I do not want a low mileage car, garage queen for 12-15,000.

If high mileage cars scare you, please dont respond to the thread. My daily driver S10 has 227k on it and runs like new. Leaks oil like a siv and its rusted out but runs perfect.

The mods do add a little value to the car for me. That would save me money & time.

I just want to know what would be a fair price for this car.

Over the past year, I typically I see stock, HIGH MILEAGE, 140-155k miles, '01-02 WS6s going for 6500-7500.

$9000 for that car is still way too much. By the time you dyno tune it, replace the tires, fix the paint issues, etc., how much will you be in it for? I am guessing you will be in the $11,000 range for a car with 136k on it. What do you think that car will be worth when it hits 150k after you drive it for a year? If book value in your area is $8500, start there and try to negotiate the cost of the tires and other repairs in the final price. Ultimately, it is your money and your decision. Do what makes you happy.

If you want to gamble, $7,000 would be top $$$ even though I personally would never do it, nor would I recommend a friend to buy it for that money.
Honestly, I think you are in denial by saying the car only needs a few things. I'm not being a hard a$$, just trying to save you some grief and passing along 40+ years behind the wheel of many cars including 17+ years of F-body ownership. I've been posting in this section for over 5 years now as well, absorbing all types of info and seeing the price ranges go from up to down and seeing mods go from a valuable add-on to being worth next to nothing at selling time. Seen it, heard about it, read about it, and passing it all along to assist you and others. No one says you have to listen to us but we are trying to save you a 'live and learn' moment. Whatever you decide, we will still wish you the best and hope you get the car you really want. That's all that matters. It's serious money.
Just one last note: Being fixated on just one car can be a big mistake.
