Default 97 35th anniversary Z28..worth keeping or fixing?

Guys got a 97 z28, 6 speed, cold air kit, pulleys, spec 3 clutch, hurst shifter. About a year ago car overheated and head gaskets blew. At least there is water in the oil when we checked. Anyway I did not have the money to fix, so I had to let the car sit. Interior has no rips at all. Transmission and clutch are in good shape never a single problem with transmission.

Clear coat is fading on the roof and the dash has a crack from the sun. Anyway guys what do you think the value of it would be. I had a guy about 6 months ago offer me 1,700 but was not sure if to fix or sale it. Opps, forgot it has 150,000 miles on it.

My apologies you are right 30th, sorry. Located in Greensboro, NC.

For what it's worth all 97's I think technically count as anniversary cars. The special ones are the SS's with the orange stripes. If you had one of those I would say keep it. This is a run of the mill Z28 that looks kind of rough. I say get rid of it unless you have some attachment to the car. It is also a 30th car, not a 35th.

If you can do the labor yourself, I'd say fix it with some income tax money. And if not then your not gonna get much out of it either, Question is where are you located. I have an Extra LT1 with low miles sitting around, maybe we could strike up a deal.

It isn't worth fixing up unless the car has some sentimental value to you. That would be different, like if it was your first car or your Dad's, something like that.

So what would be a good asking price if I sale it? Like I said about six months ago a guy offered me 1,700 for it.

I wouldn't turn it down.
If starting fresh with a new ad somewhere, ask higher, in the $2,000+ range to allow for negotiations. A 17 year old car that has been sitting for a year with a bad engine and 150,000 miles just won't bring more than that from what I've read about in this section.

Guys not sure which way I am going but Poteat Engines in NC has a rebuilt lt1 short block for 1,100 plus my core. It comes with a 2 yr/24,000 mile warranty. I will still need to have some machine work done on my heads since I blew a head gasket. Anyway any idea what I could sale mine for if I do go this way and get this motor.
