Default 1998 Trans Am - Bright Purple Metallic (1 of 84)

1998 Trans Am
92,925 miles
Bright Purple Metallic (1 of 84 in this color)
6 Speed
Recent engine rebuild with LS-6 cam and springs.
Clutch at about 40,000 miles.
Runs strong.
Front tires around 40%, rear around 60-75%
Nice interior, no holes, rips, etc. carpet like new. Monsoon head unit has been wired for MP3.
Body panels line up like new....no visible signs of ever being in an accident
Needs A/C compressor.
I`m having trouble nailing down a price on this. I think the color may be a selling point. When my wife saw this color, she just had to have one. Back then, we searched the entire country (cars.com and ebay) and only found 2 in this color.
I also think the LS-6 cam and rebuilt engine would help a little. The engine builder would be available to discuss everything that was done in specifics.
So what do you think?

I'm gonna guess 8-9, sure is pretty, rebuild may hurt as much as it helps

Even with a re-built engine the car sounds beaten (Engine, clutch, a/c = not a good past IMO. Not for an 85k miles car). A serious A/C repair isn't cheap. I see more repairs in the future. No special color is worth a headache of a car to anyone. $7,000 is absolute top dollar, and the new owner has to set aside a few grand for 'needs' in the next year or two. You are already looking at $1,800 in tires and a/c repair alone unless you can do a/c work yourself.

Thanks for the responses guys. Just to clarify, my wife is only the second owner of this car and she bought it with only 40000 miles. The previous owner, for reasons I won't mention here, was unable to drive the car for a long period of time. The clutch and the engine needed replaced/rebuilt shortly after he got it back on the road. If you know my wife, there is no way this car was beaten, and nothing to suspect the previous owner did. There are no signs that anything aftermarket, even so much as a cold air kit or a muffler, was ever added to this car. It was never raced while we had it, and from what i know about the previous owner, I doubt it was within a mile of any track while he had it. The car drives like new.

Interesting ownership history. It's hard to explain the major issues with the car since your wife was the owner for a good part of it's life. I'm sure your explanation will help many potential buyers. My price 'guesstimate' still remains the same though. You can certainly try for more. No harm in that, right? GLWS!!
