Default 2002 Firehawk 30k Miles

Hey guys, so I've been entertaining the idea of selling my 2002 Firehawk Trans Am (#602) lately and if I do I'm not sure what to list it at.

There are only 30,232 miles on it. Clean title. Exterior and interior are both 9.5/10. It's been garaged and babied its entire life, never seen rain, snow, or a pass at the track. Runs strong and pulls hard in every gear. It has a small list of modifications, but I have all of the original stock parts, from the cam, to the exhaust, to the gears if someone wanted to revert back to stock.

Exterior: Black
Interior: Black Leather
Miles: 30,232
Transmission: 6-speed manual
Mods:

FM 13 Cam (230/232, .595/.585, 112 LSA)
PRC Dual Valve Springs/Hardened Pushrods
LS2 timing Chain
LS6 Oil Pump
Pacesetter Long-Tube Headers
Pacesetter Y-Pipe
SLP Cat-Back
Flowtech Cutout
ASP Underdrive Pulley
4.10 Gears

It's currently making 408 rwhp on 93 octane pump gas. I have a ballpark figure in my head, but this is kind of a niche market so I figured I'd get some insight from people whose opinions I actually value. Thanks!

Some georgous pictures.....very nice example as well.

Without going into a lot of detail I would say I like to think this could get upwards of $18K but realistically with 5th Generation Camaro coming below $20K, LS2 GTO's falling in the $15K and under range, the effect is LS1 based platforms fall as well...to the right person you might get $18K or more generally speaking I have seen lower mileage Firehawks selling in the $13-15K range. All the ones listed at $18K or higher are still for sale. So if your looking to sell I would think your are in the $13-15K...if you want to list it and wait shot for the sky.

This being said the amount of good examples of SS and WS6 cars I have seen for sale this summer for under $11K with substantial amounts being under $10K (I have even seen about 12 SS Camaros sub 75K miles at less than $8), I think there is tough competition out there as there are many options for a guy not looking for anything specific.

Gorgeous machine but anytime I see engine mods it takes me out of the equation, and many others feel as I do. You wonder about abuse (whether real or imagined) and who did the work.
With your average buyer's market for a modded car of this type being mostly younger males (who have little or no $$$) and the advent of the holiday season, I would price it mid teens OBO, whatever you feel comfortable with. It can't be upper teens or otherwise it's going to be just another car listed 'for sale' for months and months, etc... until next Spring most likely. Price it right and it will be sold. GLWS!! It's a beauty.

I would value a regular 100% stock, black 2002 WS6 M6 with 30K miles around $16-$17K. A Firehawk should be worth at least 5%, to up to 10% more. The mods...I don't know. They could be a net wash, or subtract value. As NC01TA has stated, the mods have reduced the available buyers significantly.

I agree that $13K-$15K would sell that quick. Summer is essentially over and many buyers have headed for the hills until next April. If I were looking for another car I'd happily fork over $15K cash for that.

The glossy photos make the car look great. But they aren't realistic and don't tell me anything about the actual condition, though I'm sure it's great. Not many people will believe you that the car has never run a pass at the track....or many equivalent ones on the streets and highways.

This ebay 34K mile WS6 M6 didn't get a bid at a start price of $15,999. It had a few warts suggesting the owner didn't pay real close attention. The engine was just rebuilt, so similar to yours.

This is a 1 owner, 10K mile Automatic FH in white. Stunning...though no engine photos. Cracked door panels. The bidding stopped at $16,600 and didn't meet reserve. It appears to have real bids at the $16K level. It was put up twice since and got to $14,100-$14,400 with no sale. Dealer should is in high end exotic performance cars so this isn't going cheap. $16,600 wasn't a lot of money to bid for this. And $14K isn't near enough to buy it. Very few offerings on Ebay or on their completed/sold listings to give you a good idea of what recent 30K mile cars have brought.

You can always go over to the Firehawk website and seek opinions. When I was over there in 2015 they ran me off...didn't want to here reality on what these were actually selling for. The last one I know personally that sold was 2014....for a 1 owner, 2001 NBM A4 FH convertible with 12K miles....that sold for $20-$21K and went in only a month or so. Very desirable FH.

I guess that might be true to the right buyer, someone specifically wanting a Firehawk above all else. However, in the current market the WS6 trim seems to be most desirable/in demand, therefore might bring an equal price more quickly (unless we're talking about a very special Firehawk, such has having every SLP option, and/or 10th Ann. package, and/or mileage so low that it brings high end collectors out of the woodwork, etc.), all else being the same.

There was a fairly recent Ebay sale of a 55K mile 2001 FH anniversary M6. I was surprised it sold for a paltry $12,500. I can't recall a lower mileage car selling for so little. Maybe I'm over-estimating the WS6's too. A 30K mile example of either WS6/FH might only be in the $14K-$16K right now...and being modified makes it harder. While the above 2001 Anniv car sold for that amount, it doesn't happen very often. Every buyer in the country can't wait for that kind of deal. If that did happen, then prices would drift down for a couple years until sellers started showing up at those low price levels.

These assessments are pretty accurate, but if anything a little high.

A mint '02 Firehawk just sold with 16k miles for $15,900 on eBay. Check it out here-

I may be interested in your bird if/when it comes up for sale! It's a beaut.

An A4. An M6 could have reached $17K. The car does have some wear and tear items many would not expect on a 16K mile car. Some buyers are very fussy about dents. If I'm buying a 16K mile car, I don't want any dents or dings or paint issues....without a $1K-$2K deduction. Might cost $500-$1,000 to fix those items on this car. A decent price for the new owner. The blackwing air lid is a bonus.

You got that right, but yeah, I'm fussy.

Very true, I failed to notice the Auto. M6 cars are definitely in higher demand and would bring a bit more. Still a clean car I'd be happy to drive
