Default 17x9.5 all around.. if u got it chime in.

You guys do fine with traction? My friend keeps pressuring me to go with 11's but since drag radials don't last very long im scared to do it....seems like a money pit...

For some reason the traction gained from a 315 is like nothing all it is, is looks and even then i don't see any pics that make a huge difference to me.. atleast not with nitto's

Whoops just noticed i posted in wrong spot... Sorry!!

i doubt it makes a SIGNIFICANT difference in traction but it will make it better. more rubber=better traction and it deff looks better.

I got the TT2's and 9.5s all the way around and I do pretty good. I didnt go with the 11's in the back because I didnt want to have any rubbing issues and have to end up "massaging" the wheel wells with a BFH. I also decided against the 11's for the fact that I got 4.10s in stock the 10 bolt and I am trying to make that last as long as possible, which i figure the least amount of traction the better since it gets mainly street use. I still got it down to a crappy 2.0 sixty foot with the street tires(275/40r17 coopers) at the track.

And plus the number of times I wish I had traction get out weighted by the number of times I have burned though 1st, 2nd, and some of 3rd!!!!

By the way bobbyd it doesnt make much sense that you would gain a noticeable difference in traction going from a 9 to a 9.5 because the tires should still be the same size???? And for what its worth the stock ws6 rims are lighter than my TT2's

If you really think you think you gained more traction from going up .5" on the width of your wheel, you need to lay down the crack pipe.

i have 315's in the nitto drag radial, and they do much better on the street than my 275 goodyears. I have had them for a year and a half on tt2's 17x11 in the back. car is lowered and has no rubbing issues or other problems. Ill always have a 315 back there if i can. traction is there when i want it and i can still break them loose whenever i want.

I would and did go with the 9.5 all day over the 11 in the back. The 11's on 90% of cars take some work to get on and still dont look right imo.

The Fikse's on my blue Berger are 9.5" on all four corners with BFG KDW's . . . very happy with the choice.

As a poster above stated, 11" wheels work on some and don't on others . . . I personally do not like 11" wide wheels and 315's on the back of a Camaro, the wheel well is not wide enough the "fit" them properly . . . IMHO, they stick out of the wheel well, and I hate tires that stick out of the wheel well . . . Firebird's since the quarters are flared a bit more, pull it off better . . .

My thoughts exactly!

On a Bird those 11s look great!

On a Camaro....they just don't sit right, I went with 17 x 9.5 all the way around.

I'd stick with 9.5s in the rear. I have 4 17x9.5 ZR1s that I drive on the street with and 2 17x11 ZR1s with 315 MTs for the track and I haven't seen any gain in traction. They probably slow me down a little because they're so heavy.

From what Iv heard you sacrifice traction when you go past 285s because of the weight. Dunno.

if your car is a daily driver, i'd stick with 17x9.5 on all 4 corners, then just get a set of 2 more wheels/tires in 10.5" or 11" with some drag radials for when you go to the track or whatever.

i have 17x9.5 on all 4 corners with some GS-D3's on my daily driver, and unless the roads are wet or i really dump the clutch, they stick pretty well.

for a daily driver, it just makes sense to be able to rotate the tires......

I just recently bought 17x11 TT2s for my trans am with 315 GS-D3s and they are AMAZING compared to my stock rims and tires. the hook 100% better, probably because the GS-D3 is about 12.5" wide but still, when i would really get on it with my stock 9" it felt like my back end was just sliding straight out from under me, which doesnt happen anymore with the 315s. and under a trans am rear end, they look great

take look through some pics: http://www.fquick.com/garages/Pontia...S6/1999/21048/
