Default Is my tire too close to my fender? Pics

I just mounted some 305/35/18 Nitto 555rs on my 18x10.5" rear z06 wheels. I had to BFH a little bit but worries me is how close the top of the tire is to the fender. Car is lowered with prokit and I do have an adjustable PHB. Is this normal? Or do I need to roll my fenders? Thought this was a pretty normal setup.

When i had my prokit and 315 sumitomo's .. I put a huge tear in the sidewall just pulling out of the driveway.. Had to roll the fenders

I was at about that same height in the rear..

It'll cost you $250 to buy one, or I believe around $50 -$60 to rent one.
Also if you have a good floor jack, some masking tape, and a wooden baseball bat, and want to save some money you can do it yourself!

Mine aren't that much further away. It's been like it for years, with no issues. It would take a BIG bump for me to make mine hit the lips though. Hasn't happened yet. You can kinda see how close mine are in the sig pic. I have Nitto 315's.

Well nitto's do run smaller so maybe youll be okay Brian2006

like i said my sumitomo 315s were no bueno that low ..

I would roll the fenders just to be safe. If you don't want to rent a roller you can use a rubber mallet and a heat gun. That works just as good. I did this on my daily driver and it came out just as good as using a roller. Its fairly easy to do. i was looking at the same size tires too.. i wouldnt have thought 305 would have been a problem.

The 305 part isn't the issue, it's the height. I probably should have gone with a 35 tall tire. I had very minimal rubbing issues on the inner fender that I simply beat out with a BFH.

I would just rather not slice these $600 tires by my fenders

I'm at stock ride height with 315/35/17's and I need to roll my fenders still. My tires are chewed up on the sidewall from it and the roads here arent that bad actually. I will be just cruising and still hit the fenders every once in a while, so I would definately roll them if I were you unless you want to buy new radials here soon!

mine have some places on them not real deep but enough, im stock ride height with 315/35/17 nitto's and im gonna roll mine this winter before putting new tires on...so i would say do it

Nope. What you may wanna do is what I did. I was afraid of the paint cracking with rolling them. But as I said mine have never rubbed. But to be safe I just bent up the leading edge of the lip with a baseball bat little by little. So I still have the lips, but the outer edge is curved up so it's not sharp. You may want to go this way. But my Nitto 315's are narrow for 315's.

Not the best pic, but you can see how low I am and how much space I have....You're closer then I am for sure.

275-40-18 on 18x10.5 with the Eibach Sportline and has been that way for years with no issues......

You hit any kind of bumps and you're going to slit the upper/outer edge of the tire.
I've heard horror stories about those roller tools. I'd get it done professionally, or attempt it yourself if you're feeling gutsy. A local guy did mine ('Trust' on this forum), and he used a razor blade and cut the paint about 1/8"-1/4" to the inside of the outer edge of the quarter panel (on the underside that you're rolling) and used a hammer to bend the metal up (hit it several times around the edge. Cutting the paint prevents it from cracking outward toward the visible area of the car. I can show you pictures if interested. Mine are rolled basically flat and look awesome. After he rolled them he shot some flat black spraypaint on the cutline area of the paint to prevent any rusting.

dude mine are just like that, and i have little rubbing problems, basically you just cant have anyone in the back of the car is how mine is, but i was going to roll my fenders, if you do it the right way will i have to worry about my paint cracking??

Looks a bit too close. I thought places like autozone rented the tool to roll fenders for pretty cheap.
