Shortening wheels studs?
I'm throwing some new wheels on the TA, won't require spacers anymore and will need to shorten my ARP studs I believe.
I'm thinking, and from what I've read...
-Once I have the wheel off, thread an open lug down to the disc.
-Cut the necessary amount with a cutoff wheel or hacksaw
-Backing the open lug over the cut should clean up the threads enough to thread on the finishing lugnut.
-I would probably want to to work the nut over the cut a few times before I take it completely off and make sure the finished lugnut threads oen there nice.
Anyone ever done this this way? Got any other tips or suggestions?
The ARP studs are very strong, I like them and really don't want to change all of my studs again.
I've searched, and found very little on this topic.
Thanks,
John
