Default Best hooking D/R

What you guys think is the best hooking (at the track) D/R in the P275/40 R17 size? Would like to see some 60 ft times to back it up. I am on Nittos now, and not very happy (2.16-2.19) that sucks!

My vote is Mickey Thompson. I have 275/40/17, best 60ft so far has been 1.57. Also have stock rear.

NO. Auto's can get away with a weaker rear. If you hit that 60ft with a M6 you will be on borrowed time... IMO.

i doubt it. i don't know what all suspension you have done to your car, but he's running QA1's, and autos are notorious for launching better. I cut 2.0 60' 's on nitto DR's all night on a bolt ons m6 stock suspension. you will hook better on a Mickey, but as stated before, it's give and take. either you dead hook and break stuff or spin a little and stay stock.

Yeah I am on stock suspension now (I have some Strano stuff, but that would be a new thread). So 2.0's on Nittos huh? I spin more than a little. Can you explane how to do it please.

I want those tires... too bad nobody seems to have them in stock for like the next 10 years.

I would put money on that these would hook better then the mickey 315/35/17 drag radials...

Okay, I am down with the M/T's. But does anyone know the best place to buy? I have been checking and there about $210.00 plus shipping each. Now that I think about it, I see lots of votes. But only one 60' time? You guys know what your talking about? or just blowing smoke up my, well you know what....lol

i had the best luck when i would heat them just enough to get the dirt off ( a couple seconds) just to get them tacky. then i would stage, rev to about 3-4K, let the clutch out fast, not a dump. the clutch will take some of the heat, but how fast do you wanna be ? lol

Its all about the launch with an M6. I've pulled 1.95 60 fts on non D/R street tires. Don't just dump the clutch. Bring it up to 3-4K and ride the clutch out of the hole hard for best results, especially with stock gearing. As said before if you dead hook the chances of you breaking something are pretty good.
