Default Tork Imagine

I have the Tork Imagine wheels on my 2002 SS and I love them I just wish I could get a wider tire on the back they are 18x9 is there some way to put a wider tire or do I just have to buy different wheels?

You could get the wheels widened...usually cost between 150-250 per wheel....But just putting a bigger tire on is not a good idea. 275 I think is max for a 9 inch wheel maybe 285. Anything bigger needs more wheel.

Have you given 275/40/18 a thought? That's what I did with mine, it'll fill the wheelwells up a lot better than a 275/35/18.

Weldcraft Wheels will widen them for around $200-$300 a wheel depending on where you want them widened.

Won't this theoretically change your speedometer's calibration since your tire will have an overall larger diameter? This is what I would like to do with 19s because the tires always seem soooo thin.

Any time you go to a larger tire your speedometer is going to be off. I don't think going from a 35 to a 40 tire will make a big difference on the speedometer though.
