Default Which DR's to get?

I have a manual transmission car, making decent power, and mild suspension. I hear that with a manual you want a DR that will have a 'Controlled spin' instead of one that will 'dead hook' for an auto. I have had my eye on getting some Mickey thompsons, since it appears they are the best, but I also found some Hoosers, and read up some info on drag radail selections and I don't really know anymore which would be the best for my setup.

If i remember right the NIttos I had a while back seemed to spin in a controlled manor, so those might be an option as well?

Mickey thompson if you have a 12 bolt. The amount of spin will depend on how you launch. if you plan on dumping the clutch, i hope your clutch can hold, and hang on!

I think the MT are the best of the DR's, but with a M6 you'd be better off with a MT ET Street or Hoosier QTP. I never could get a good launch with them, I'd just bang off the rev limiter. I finally went with the Hoosier QTP's.

Yea I have a 12 bolt, and the clutch is a textrailia 0z700, so it aswell should be fine.

I'm in the same boat as you man. I was always planning mickeys, but then I heard auto = mickeys and M6 = Hoosier's. I also heard the Hoosiers wear reeeally quick compared to the Thompson's which already blow at tread life which isn't good because sometimes I'm sure I'll be tempted to throw the radials on for a night of crusing sometimes when the fun cars are out! So idk anymore...

Well hopefully someone can shed some light on the subject for us. I know this is irrelivent, but the hoosiers also look really good with the big white HOOSIER on the side haha.

i have used m/t on a cruise/race only 6 speed car, and they worked really well. it was a 275.60.15 and was terrible in the rain - keep that in mind if you ever plan to daily it.
i currently have nitto 275.40.17 on a different 6 speed car and daily drive it. they dont work as well hook wise, but are MUCH more predictable on the street.

Well, I do daily drive the car, but I would sacrafise all drivability for performance. I have other means of transportation if needed.

i had/have hoosiers with my M6/800+rwhp car... they definitely hook up as good as anything out there. i actually hooked up a bit in 1st for the first time in years. on the downside, to me they seem a little less predictable. if it's the least bit green outside, they get sketchy. didn't have a chance with them at the track yet, but i will this year.
