Default 275/60/15s and a Trans Am! Pics Added (Updated)

I ordered a set of billet specialties street lites and and some 275/60/15 MT Drag radials and there has been a lot of work that had to go into makeing these fit. The car has fully adjustable suspension so it helps but I thought these were suppose to fit without the BFH and removing the bumpstops. Right now the tire is rubbing on the front side of the rear wheel well. Going to move the rearend back some to see if that helps, but i can't even get a hand between the either side of the wheel well and the tire. I guess its a good thing i didn't 325s. Anyone else run into this situation or have any ideas why they aren't fitting as nicely as i though they would?

Really???? 275/50R15's are the same diameter as a stock tire. There is no reason why you should have had to do anything to get them to fit.

Weird....I had 275/60/15s (Same tire only 2" taller) and I didn't have to do anything to make them fit. Now I run 325/50/15s, and for those I had to remove the bumpstop and use the BFH.

You got something else going on there man, those tires should fit with no issues. Is the car on stands and you are just letting the rear end hang, have you put the car on the ground yet, adjustable control arms, torque arm, something is out of adjustment. Give us some more info.

I am not the one actually working on the car, even though it is mine. Sorry i was mistaking on the wheel size as well it is a 275/60/15 its a 28 inch tall tire. The car has a Dana S60, with UMI tunnel mount trq arm, i have an adjustable panhard bar, adjustable lower control arms, and relocation brackets (Everything is adjustable). Yea he drove the car thats how he knew that the tires were rubbing on the front side. I really don't know what other info to give, I just can't believe that they just didn't go on like I imagined.

I have a Dana 60 with BMR full adjustable parts and I have had 325/50R15's on there and 28x11.50R15's. Hell, I run 325/45R17's Daily (M&H) and they still have room.

If they are close to rubbing on the front then just tell him to move the rearend back.

See if you can get us some pics.

That was his plan, was to move the rearend back the last time I talked to him. He is a guy that doesn't really know how to use the camera well. Its like he has the time to work on my car when I am school, and I help him use the technology so he can sell stuff, put pictures up, and sign up for forums and what not.

Sorry to be off topic here, but what size/offset front wheel did you go with and what size tire and also what lugs did you go with?

Thanks,
James

They were rubbing on the inside of the wheel well until he did the BFH mod and got rid of the bumpstops. I don't know, but the car looks really good.

The are 15x10s with 7.5 BS and the fronts are a 15x4 with like a 1.625 BS or something like that i am not really sure, they are Fbody specific wheels. The fronts do tuck up nice i think. The lugs are included in the price of the rims so those are whatever were sent to me. The front tires are the MT s/r radial i am not sure what size i forgot they are mad to go on a 6inch rim i believe.

I was looking on summit at the wheels.....where did you buy yours from?
If it's not a sponsor just pm me the name.

How much grinding was required for the fronts and backs respectively?

Thanks,
James

Got the wheels from Dragwheelz.com he is sponser on here. You can get them from a lot of different sponser on the forums and non-sponsers. Only had to grind the fronts down just enought to take the outside lip off. Kinda hard to describe the caliper looks like a half moon now with no ridges its just all smooth. No griding on the back required if you get the fbody specific wheels. Tires i couldn't tell you in metric you will have to figure that out on your own sorry.

That doesn't make scene, Wheel's look killer! I'm thinking of getting rid of my TT2's for some Street Lite's.
