Default Got cheater slicks and still cant hook!!!

Got some M&H Racemasters DOT cheater slicks 305/40/16 and i still cant hook worth a **** on the street at 20-25psi....

I can still burn them up till around 40mph.... I even tried to heat them up for like 20 seconds!!!!

I have tried flashing.... and 1500, 2000, 2500rpm footbrake.... nothing seems to work!

I had about 1/4 tank of fuel and the car is full weight.... mods are in sig...

I am dissapointed in them honestly. the only thing i can think of is that it was only 40 degrees outside.....

Is there something else i can try?

Lower your air pressure. Way too much for slicks.

It's hard to hook anything in 40 degree weather. Get some adjustable shocks, it'll make a big difference. You could try running more gas and/or take some weight of the front to help with weight transfer. Still have the front sway bar?

+1 I've been running around at 15psi on the street on my ET Streets. I recently played around with uping the pressure to 18 and its doesnt seem do quite as well but its not bad either. Im putting 450/425 to the wheels N/A, I had to start running around on my ET Streets because my BFG KDWs dont do anything but spin.

just dont try to go carve corners and end up busting the bead of the wheel.

also 20sec worth of a burnout is a bit much. you can over do it just making the slicks gooey and not hook at all.

If you remove your front sway bar, your car is going to turn like an f'n boat. Try it and see if you like it. When I did mine, it went back on 10 minutes later.

Relocation brackets, Lower tire pressure, VHT and a warmer road should do the trick. Launching on a cold road and that high of tire pressure - I wouldn't even see a stock car hooking that great.

the weather is a factor... wait until it heats up until you do anything drastic.. and save for the rear..
