17x9.5 C5 Z06 chrome rims. I've since changed over to 18x9.5 in the same style.

Very nice. What size tires are you running in the 18's? Do the 18's rub anywhere? Did you sell the 17"?

C5 Z06 17's were sold to go with C6 19's, which were recently sold to go with C5 Z06 18's. I ran 275/40/17 on the 17's and I'm now running 275/35/18 with NO problems whatsoever.

I've also run 17" Firehawk rims which looked great too!

Here's what the 19's looked like:

Both pictures that I posted are with my car lowered w/Eibach Pro-Kit. The ride was pretty rough with 19's and the Pro-Kit, so that's one of the reasons I went down to 18's. I've also got Strano springs and his Koni 4/3 shock package on order to make things even better.

I only lowered the car in preparation for the 19's. Now I like the look, and it looks good with the 18's too...I just don't have any pics with the 18's.

Oh, and if I didn't go with chrome C5 Z06's, my next choice were these in 18x9.5, but they're available in 17" too:

Oh ok gotcha....I have 160k on my Z and all stock suspension parts to my knowledge. I am thinking of some new springs w/ some bilstein shocks all the way around. Maybe that would make it ride better you think? But I really like the 18's....

If you're still on your stock springs/shocks w/160K miles, then I'm fairly sure it's time to replace them.

As far as the best way to lower a car, the best thing I can do is tell you to research it here and make an informed decision from there. There are MANY opinions on it here. I lowered mine the first time using one of the cheaper methods...Pro-Kit and Gabriel shocks from AutoZone and I spent like $350 on the springs/shocks the first time. The Strano/Koni set-up that I just ordered is 3 times that price, and there are many different options in between.
