Iv got the newer Mickey T 315/35/17 and I really like it for DD. Now in the rain, Idk I dont get the car out in the rain, but Iv got cought in it before in my older cars and it wasnt any fun. I dont like Nittos..To hard for me I guess, but a lot of people like them and they last..

I was checking out the nitto 555r and there speed rating is only R rated whats up with that? I was also checking out the NT 505's which have a 200 tread wear rating and are Z rated for speed...

Probably Nittos are your best bet. Or BFGs if you want a little more grip but can deal with a little less treadlife.

I am running the BFGs, I put them on in Sept. With ZERO track trips and easy driving they are already bald. I "might" have 10,000 miles on them is all. I wasn't pleased with the treadlife, but they hook like no ones business. However, driving in the rain is an absolute nightmare, don't expect to go any faster than 40 without spinning 360s.

I would get them again, but not for DD tires.

Eh, ALL drag radials suck for DD. Buy a second set of rims.

M/T are Waaaaay better than Nitto for traction, But I only got about 2000 miles on the M/T's and just saw cord showing on my left rear today.
Haven't tried BFG's yet, On Nitto's I had no hook whatsoever from 0 to 110

Im really happy with my M&H DR (275/60/16 28x9.5x16), they have more tread then MT I've been fine in the riam with them. They are new, but they have a full tread groove pattern for the rain water, not just the side. They don't dead hook, they hook and the car moves forward really hard and the front end comes up. But they leave light scrachy burouts marks in the rear veiw on the street. On the track I like them too, on 2 diffrent normal test and tune days was cutting 1.75 -1.71 back to back day and night. Best so far is some high 1.6s a 1.66 pulling the fronts a little. for a M6 car I htink thats good.

I havnt had these thats long. But ran nittos they are better then normal tires on the street but suck at the track, last for a while even with not alot ot tread new.

Like to try M&H, seems the only sizes they make in 18" are 275/45, 325/40 & 335/35 & the only ones I can get on mine are the 275/40, But there too large diameter to match my front 255/40/18 (screw with the stability control) . The next tire change I may do all 4 and go with the 275/45/18 & get a set of fronts that match the diameter.
Trying BFG g-force T/A drag radials now 295/35/18 (just put them on)
and they barely fit in there
Look forward to trying M&H

My .02Cents is that I have the 315/35/17s on my t/a now and they last a while eventhough to race you need a good burnout to heat them up. I had an 87 GN with the 235 drag radials from BF Goodrich and they were pretty good for a small rim/tire car but went through them pretty often about a set a year where my t/a is a set every other year. Both cars driven about the same mileage wise. So I think that the nittos are a great dd drag radial got caught in the rain with them on a few times but as long as the traction control on I was fine.

Nittos are the best DR for DD imo. They grip a hell of a lot better than street tires, and work well in the rain. I have hooked a few 1.81 60's with them on the stock clutch. I'm putting a clutch in the car tomorrow and will be back at the track within 2 weeks and am confident I will be low 1.7 60' on the nittos with the new clutch. Btw, this is on 245/50/16's

The best daily driven drag radial is the Nitto NT555R. Still usable in rain, decent tread wear... Just definitely not the stickiest, and usually take a good burnout to warm up. I've got 275/40/17 Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials, and they hook pretty well. I've gotten caught in the rain though, and lets just say it wasn't fun.

there really isnt a question here, Nitto makes the best DD drag radial period. Best treadlife and descent traction. any roll and you wont spin, i guarantee you.
with my nittos and my mods in my sig.. i wont spin from ne roll in ne gear. 20-35 in first = dead hook.. and 50-55 in 2nd dead hook

why doesn't anyone like the hossiers? Ive had both bfg and hossiers... to be honest I can't tell the difference. The bfgs lasted a year without any trips to the track... but had at least 15,xxx miles on them.

I've run nitto's and M/T's. The nitto's, as everyone has said, don't hook as well but are better than a street tire and can be driven in the rain if need be. M/T's and rain don't mix, it really sucks. I just keep the stock wheels around with street tires just in case it rains.

I really like the nitto's, i went through 2 sets of the M/T's and they wear to fast and the car just didnt handle that great, with the nitto's though i can take corners fast and still heat them up and get traction. 1.71 60' is the best i pulled with the nittos and M/T's are right there if not alittle slower.
